Prayer for the Persecuted

Father in heaven, I ask you to have mercy on your children. Hide your little ones under the shadow of your wing and protect them with your mighty power. Stop the advance of evil against your people. Send your angel armies to push back the enemy and end this violent bloodshed. Let the justice of heaven build a wall around your people that the minions of hell cannot breach. You are never the initiator of war and violence, God, but your justice demands an answer. I pray for righteousness to prevail over injustice, for heaven’s glory to suffocate violence, for peace and freedom to be established on the earth in the name of Jesus Christ. Let Your Kingdom come, Lord, on earth as it is in heaven! Silence your enemies! Help your children! Use our prayers as fuel for your good and perfect will to be done. Please unleash your Holy Spirit to cover and fill those people being targeted, hurt and killed because of your name, Lord Jesus. Where words fail us, hear our groans for our brothers and sisters enduring such pain right now.

“May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him.”
Psalm 68:1

“Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, ‘He won’t call me to account’? But you, God see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness that would not otherwise be found out. The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.”
Psalm 10:12-18
